Getting to the Heart
and Mind of the Matter:

A Toolkit and Workshops for Building Confidence in
Being a Trusted Messenger of Health Information

This three-part workshop series is designed to help you close the gap between health education and desired outcomes.  The pandemic inspired this content, but the workshops are applicable to all health education initiatives beyond adult vaccination confidence. These workshops are an opportunity to learn and enhance your communication skills, with an emphasis on HOW to communicate to your audience rather than WHAT to communicate. This series is suitable for Extension professionals and community partners.

The workshops are interactive and engaging, providing opportunities for participants to learn from our expert presenters as well as from one another. We offer easy access to links and videos as resources during and following the workshop series. Each workshop session builds on the other and provides integration among the three approaches. While attending all three workshops is not required, it is recommended for optimal learning and understanding of the material. Participants who cannot attend all sessions can review the recorded sessions as a complete package.

This event will be hosted by the Washington State EXCITE team, featuring expertise spanning the fields of Communication, Education, and Extension. Presenters and developers include Erica Weintraub Austin, Paul Bolls, Nicole O’Donnell, Anya Sheftel, Zena Edwards, Bruce Austin, Shawn Domgaard, Di Mu, Pamela Rose, and Courtney Payne.
