Consistent is her passion and dedication to nutrition education and promotion. Currently Barbara leads the MyPlate National Strategic Partner initiative which reaches millions of consumers with MyPlate messages. Barbara earned a PhD as part of the Child Nutrition Leadership Academy at Iowa State University, Master of Science degree in Vocational and Adult Education and a Bachelor of Science degree in Family and Consumer Science at University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Yetunde Akingbemi, MPH, RDN
Nutritionist, Center for Nutrition Policy and Promotion, Food and Nutrition Service U.S. Department of Agriculture. Yetunde Akingbemi is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) in CNPP on the Nutrition Education and Innovation Division (NEID) working on promotional efforts for MyPlate. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition-Dietetics from Auburn University and a Master of Public Health Nutrition from the University of Minnesota. Yetunde’s career includes serving as an Early Childhood Health and Nutrition Specialist/Coordinator for Early Head Start and Head Start, a nutritionist for WIC, and a clinical pediatric dietitian.
